At Springboard we have a huge range of art, craft and design resources, incorporating a range of different ideas and disciplines that can be used to really engage pupils in primary schools, nurseries, and early years establishments.
For over 20 years our family-run team has been supplying teachers, primary schools, nurseries and day care businesses with educational resources, such as school art supplies, to support the development of children in early years.
More than just school art supplies
In early years and the foundations of formal education, visual learning is an important tool. It’s how children begin to understand the world around them, and how they first start to identify words. Visual learning helps children to grasp concepts as they imagine them in their own minds. Even as adults some things are much better understood visually, so this early years art and craft is a core learning moment. That’s why our art and craft resources for schools and early years settings are so important, and that’s why we provide materials that matter.
Visual art and design help to foster visual creativity and expression, which is vital to children’s personal development. Creative subjects give students the tools to look at the world in different ways, communicate their thoughts and feelings and foster essential transferable skills in learning other subjects.
The beginning of providing materials that matter
We started from humble beginnings with Marie, a frustrated home economics teacher in Oldham, who simply dreamed of creating multicoloured scarves with her classes but the budget simply wouldn’t stretch. She uncovered a deep need for resources that teachers actually want, not what suppliers think they need. So began Springboard Supplies, to bring to you quality and affordable resources and supplies, including art and craft supplies for schools, for a range of age ranges.
Children are at the heart of what we do. That’s why we provide materials that matter, developed with care and real industry experience for you and the children in mind. And Marie, the frustrated home economics teacher? That was our grandmother. Understanding what art and craft resources and supplies are needed in early years and beyond is in our family.
As a family-run business, we constantly listen to the feedback of parents and teachers to grow our range of educational, art and craft supplies for schools to answer the needs of every child from the beginning of their education journey.
